Political Hot Spot

I'm back!!! I've been very busy lately and things have been very hectic and stressful. I probably don't have enough time to start blogging agian, but I will anyways. I've missed it too much. Thank you for your support, it's been pretty rough.

This disgusts me! More than five years after 9/11 and they still haven't gotten all of the bodies out? and they want to build on a site where bodies may still remain?

I heard from another source that they have special squads in the navy that deal with recovering bodies. Why don't they utilize one of those squads? I'm sure they would be happy to help. one person was saying that if New York had five years to do it and couldn't get it done then the feds should take over and get something done. so why wasn't anything done?!

these families have suffered great loss, the least we could do for them is allow them to bury their loved ones. I haven't had the time to fully research this story and I don't know Bloomberg's response to it. I think we should make sure all the bodies are recovered before we start building. we shouldn't leave anyone in there. and we should get the building process started as soon as possible.

That's right. There are specialized military forensic units that could have done a much better job.

Not to take anything away from the local authorities, but these guys are just better equipped and trained to deal with sites like this.

    Welcome back!

I agree, the locals are good but this situation requires specialists.

    Thank you! :)

I saw a comment on another post. I blinked, blinked again....HOLY COW, IT REALLY IS ELLIE!!!! Welcome back, hope all went as well as could be, and don't worry about not flooding us with posts right away. It ain't like we're going anywhere.:)

That was indeed a gruesome thing to read. I'm not from NYC, and have never been there, so this is pure speculation. I'm guessing everything was such mass chaos in the weeks and months after 9/11, that the spot simply was overlooked. I was caught by a comment at the end of the article tho.....It makes you wonder what the hell the hurry was." Indeed!!

there she is, I saw your post and I had to come visit. I cannot imagine the anger y'all are having in NYC.
I do wonder how much pride and bragging rights have worked aganist progress; that is a much larger question but's stay in NYC. Maybe this tragic find wil help clear the egotistical debris out there and help the rebuilding.

future - thank you!! you made me smile :)

you should come visit NYC, it's a great place!!! everything was crazy after 9/11. but we pieced everything back together. the firefighters did a wonderful job but as beltway said, we need the specialists, there's only so much the locals can do. and yes, what was the hurry? some politician needed a news story probably.

truth-pain - thanks!! yes, I'm looking forward to getting back to the rants. have missed them. :)

obob - thanks!! yes, we;re pretty angry about this whole thing. I can understand politicians using events for their own political gain, but something like 9/11 should be sacred ground. When Bush held his convention here NYC staged one of the largest protests ever seen. I agree with you, I hope the politicians can get over themselves and we can get the rebuilding started once and for all. However, I think we should make sure all the bodies have been recovered first.

Hi Ellie! I ain't been on much myself.

Anyway - If the scene had been treated like the Crime Scene it was, than a lot of questions wold be answered.

I don't know if you have had a close loss, but not to have a resting place for anyone of the people who have died close to me, would hurt. A lot. So I hope these findings bring some Peace to ones who might otherwise not have it at all.

    Peace.

hey human. I haven't had a close loss but a few of my friends did. Even though I lost no one particularly close to me my heart goes out to those who did and to my city which lay in ruins. I wish they had asked the questions they needed to ask and done the things they needed to do. now the job is unfinished and there are still many questions that need to be asked. the whole thing is just a mess.
